This documentary is our story. One telling of how a few kids, some without life plans, happened upon a class that taught, inspired, and launched them into a whole new world.
Learning video production introduced us to people and places of which we never dreamed. With camera in hand, we went through locked doors and around barricades, on land, sea and up in the air to capture incredible sights and sounds for others to enjoy.
We were young in the 80's and when we covered an event, we were part of the show. We ourselves made the news, whether it be TV, radio or the newspapers, all because we were simply in town with a camera. Back then, no one had a video camera in their pocket, let alone an internet to post their videos. People watched us with awe as we covered the action. They'd often ask, "Is this going to be on TV? When? What channel?"
Many times we envisioned our own ideas for TV shows and Films. We would pull together whomever and whatever we needed to make it a reality. Sometimes we won local awards and sometimes just the joy of production was a reward within itself. We may not have Oscars or the Emmys, but we each have careers extending beyond 35 years with hundreds of stories to share.
This documentary tells our story, because for us, in our own minds, we know, "We Made It".
